Homo Animus
"Homo Animus" is a single-player, browser-based, prehistoric-themed card battle arena game styled as an 8-bit retro experience. Players create custom warriors by selecting from various human species (races like Homo erectus or Neanderthal), classes with unique playstyles, distributing attribute points, and equipping cards across eight categories. Battles are turn-based duels against AI opponents, resolved through a dice-rolled (d6) attack/defense calculation system with cooldowns on cards. Progression involves collecting hundreds of cards via packs, crafting, and rewards from wins, daily challenges, achievements, and character leveling. The game features deep collection management, multiple save slots via character gallery, starter deck selection, tutorials, sound/haptic feedback, and persistent local storage saves. It's entirely self-contained in one HTML file with embedded CSS and JavaScript, optimized for both desktop and mobile play with touch enhancements.
